The games are janky, but not to the extent that normies and children are going to raise a fuss over it. At least, not in my experience so far. In these battles, you will be able to test your battle skills against Pokémon Trainers from all over the world. Your rank will change depending on your battle results. Trainers are sorted into tiers based on their ranks. If you can reach Master Ball Tier, the topmost tier, you'll have a chance to vie to be the best Pokémon Trainer in the world in fierce battles.​ VoidofLight Nintendo basically owns the Pokemon IP. The Pokemon Company is shared between Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures. If Zelda was a series that needed to be rushed out constantly alongside a flurry of new media and merchandise, those games wouldn't be half as polished and impressive as they are.

Nintendo of all companies, who always takes quality seriously in their releases. Not that all their games are always good or perfect, but at least the quality was never at question! It is worth bearing in mind that a full Nintendo Switch Online membership will be required to use the Battle Stadium feature and The Pokémon Company also warn that the features may not be instantly available to you until they release an early update to the game. Weird pop-ins, spaghetti arms and eyes bulging out of trainers' heads are one thing, but a problem like this runs the risk of removing all sense of chance from competitive battles. All studios involved have been silent about the issue so far (as have they about all of the issues) but we can't help but think that something like this needs to be fixed fast.

Causal Battle

In Pokémon Stadium 2 the CPU player becomes Cal and introduces a different character design then the one used in Pokémon Gold and Silver. Cal will use whatever Pokémon the player assigns unless the Challenge Cup is chosen. Also, players and Cal can be given any amount of Pokémon (if Free Battle Mode is selected) from one Pokémon to six. Rules are introduced for Battle Mode; the cup the player chooses will determine the type of rules that are introduced. Rules can be reviewed using the R button at the mode selection screen alongside available Pokémon for the specified cup (Example: Little Cup is for level five Pokémon only). Casual Battle is the Friendly ladder on the Battle Stadium. It allows for you to play in Single or Double Battles with up to 6 Pokémon. Here, you can use Legendary and Mythical Pokémon that you wouldn't be able to use in Ranked Battles

These are low-stakes battles in which results are not recorded. One appealing feature about these battles is that you can use any Pokémon.​

Casual Battles allow players to freely battle other players online. Unlike Ranked Battles, players can use special Pokémon. It replaces the Free Battle feature of the Battle Spot.
