This was a suspenseful, unsettling and creepy story revolving around the daughter of a serial killer. As her mother's trial gets ever nearer, Milly is given preparation for the questioning that she will face in court. Afterwards she’s given a new identity-- Milly--and is sent to live with her London psychologist, Mike Newmont, and his family.

Good Me Bad Me is a thought-provoking thriller that expertly encapsulates the trauma of an adolescent who has seen and done things, no child should have to do, ever. My Thoughts: In Milly’s first person narrative voice, we see the world around her from her perspective, and it is a sad, emotionally devastating world.

Annie is an unreliable narrator and her journey as she struggles between her good and bad side makes this book all the more interesting and intense. To be treated very badly by a parent is unbelievable, to be with a mother who treats other kids not only bad but torments them, torments then and kills them and a 15 your old daughter being aware of this is outstandingly shocking. Perhaps because I found it somewhat predictable, perhaps because it just missing a little something, I’m not quite sure.Her beautiful, intimate voice immediately tugged me into the heart and mind of a serial killer's daughter and then wouldn't let go. The story opens with a brilliant premise: Teenaged Annie turns her serial killer mother in to the police.

I could understand that her case warrants someone with his skill-set because of the severity of the trauma she’s been through, but I still didn’t believe that she’d necessarily be placed with him. Annie too, has suffered terribly at the hands of her mother, but at the age of fifteen, she decides to inform the police of her mother's crimes. While her mother is awaiting her trial Annie is placed in a foster family, where she get’s a new sister and a new name.This thriller gives readers a new angle to explore in psychological thriller and it’s every bit as good as reading from the killer’s perspectives. Good Me Bad Me is a novel that explodes off the page, with beautifully drawn characters and carefully executed pace.
