The strategy of Bristol does not arise in social deduction, but mainly, math, and influencing/guessing one’s opponents’ next moves.

An interesting side note here…if you are pushed off and left behind, but you were healthy, you can reveal that fact and the person who pushed you dies of shame and also gets to sit out the rest of the game with you.

It's right in the vein of the light hearted quick paced, minimal strategy themes of the Tortuga, Deadwood, and Salem. I was a little late getting my kickstarter, but I've enjoyed all the Dark City games from Facade Game. On the design side of things, I applaud Facade Games for doing something original with the bookshelf look of their games. Having played Tortuga 1667 from the same designer, I came away from that thinking that the social deduction there was similarly broken.One additional card is also placed in the mingle pile from the symptom deck, or a card might already be there from someone playing a Leeches remedy card.

Seeing the final result of Facade Game’s vision, beautiful production and all, is tantalizing frosting on a cake that I was already hungry for. The rules generate an interesting tension by acknowledging that it’s easier to win with the plague but also requiring healthy players to avoid catching it.It is certainly a common phrase, although I’ve found that enforcing the phrase is even more satiating than hearing it.

So I'm going to wait and see if that group resurrects post-pandemic before getting anything from Facade. A sour scent of sweat and desperation mingled with the sickly-sweet rot of apples underfoot as we eyed one another warily for the tell-tale signs of infection. Adjusting my cowl, I wrenched tighter my rags to conceal the bubonic swell that was even now pulsing ‘neath the crook of my arm- holding my breath as I mouthed a silent prayer. Dead players, while out of the game, are still encouraged to participate in the propaganda and communication aspects of the game, as their goal is to help ensure no one makes it out alive. One nice touch that Facade Games brought to Bristol 1350 is multiple ways of extending and changing the game to enhance replayability.The instruction booklet is beautifully illustrated by Sarah Keele, and is competently written, explaining the rules well enough that I had no trouble trying the game (and solo!
