CONFIDENTIALITY. This Agreement and the Materials are Intel confidential information and subject to Your valid corporate non-disclosure agreement with Intel (CNDA). Except as authorized in Section 2.1, you must not disclose this information to anyone, including the U.S. government. This Agreement will not become effective, or will automatically terminate, in the absence of a CNDA.

Low latency: Intel Ethernet Flow Director delivers hardware-based application steering and Intel Data Direct I/O makes the processor cache the primary destination and source of I/O data rather than main memory. Combined, latency is reduced and Intel reports a three-fold improvement in RPS. Third-Party Software. Your use of any third-party software is subject to Your compliance with the license You obtain directly from that third-party. A listing of any such third-party software may be in a text file accompanying the Materials. From a performance perspective, the Intel X710-DA2 OCP NIC 3.0 performs just as we would expect. We have been using Intel’s X700 series NICs for over six years now (see Intel Fortville Lower Power Consumption and Heat as an example) so the driver support is very good. There was a Fortville re-spin to fix an early bug, but cards like this OCP NIC 3.0 form factor are all built many years after that occurred. It is something we do not worry about these days. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000007022/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products.html Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- SERR-

Especially as we move to the PCIe Gen4 server generation in 2021 we are going to see the OCP NIC 3.0 slot become ubiquitous. It can handle high-performance dual 100GbE networking or 10x what this card can achieve. Still, this is what Intel is selling as “basic connectivity” in this space. Some deployments will have servers with OCP NIC 3.0 slots and will not need 25GbE or faster speeds. Intel X710 NIC in Linux See the release notes and the readme.txt file for installation instructions, supported hardware, what's new, bug fixes, and known issues. Part number 01DA900 is supported on the x3850 X6 and x3950 X6, however 81Y3520 is not supported on these servers Severability. If a court holds a provision of this Agreement unenforceable, the court will modify that part to the minimum extent necessary to make that part enforceable or, if necessary, to sever that part. The rest of the provision remains fully enforceable. The card we are looking at is the Intel X710DA2OCPV3. Server vendors re-brand this part. As an example, Dell says this is a W35V7 / Dell Part 540-BCOU. There is also an Intel X710DA4OCPV3 part which is the quad-port version of this card. We previously looked at a Intel X710-DA4 NIC if you want to see more about that solution in a traditional PCIe form factor. There is a notable difference. Technically this card is using the X710-BM2 controller (X710 2-port) while the DA4 version is using an XL710-BM1 essentially an XL710 40Gbps single port solution split into four 10GbE ports. Intel X710 DA2 OCP NIC 3.0 Cover SFP+passive or active limiting direct attach copper cables that complywith the SFF-8431 v4.1 and SFF-8472 v10.4 specifications. The driver or software for your Intel® component might have been changed or replaced by the computer manufacturer. We recommend you work with your computer manufacturer before installing our driver so you don’t lose features or customizations.

Next-generation VMDq: The X710 adapters support up to 256 VMDq VMs and offer enhanced Quality of Service (QoS) feature by providing weighted round-robin servicing for the Tx data. The adapters offload the data-sorting functionality from the hypervisor to the network silicon, which improves data throughput and CPU usage. NO WARRANTY. The Materials are provided “as is,” without any express or implied warranty of any kind including warranties of merchantability, non-infringement, title, or fitness for a particular purpose. The Materials may include pre-release software or algorithms and may not be fully functional. Intel is not required to maintain, update, or support the Materials.Open Source Licenses. The Materials may include software subject to an open source license, including licenses recognized by the Open Source Initiative ( http://www.opensource.org). Nothing in this Agreement limits any rights under, or grants rights that supersede, the terms of any applicable open source software license. Your Products” means products developed or to be developed by or for You that include an Intel Component executing the Materials. Dispute Resolution. If we have a dispute regarding this Agreement (other than a dispute over misappropriation of trade secrets or breaches of confidentiality obligations), neither of us can file a lawsuit or other regulatory proceeding unless the complaining party provides the other party a detailed notice of the dispute and our senior managers attempt to resolve the dispute. If we can’t resolve the dispute in 30 days, either of us may demand mediation and will then try to resolve the dispute with an impartial mediator. If we don’t resolve the dispute within 60 days after the mediation demand, either of us may begin litigation. Cost-and energy-efficient design delivers superior performance with a theoretical throughput of 40 Gb/s (20 Gb/s Tx; 20Gb/s Rx) bidirectional throughput

The other major change with this version is that the NIC is designed to be easily swappable with a connector in line with the plane of removing the NIC to the rear of the chassis. That makes installation much easier. The connector is built for PCIe Gen4 speeds and x16 links, but as a dual 10GbE card this is PCIe Gen3. Practically, that has an impact since this card is now using a PCIe Gen4 x16 motherboard slot for what can easily be accomplished in PCIe Gen3 x4. Intel X710 DA2 OCP NIC 3.0 Slot This. zip file contains all of the Intel® Ethernet network drivers and software for currently supported versions of Windows*, Linux*, and FreeBSD* for most Intel® Ethernet Adapters. Not all Intel® Ethernet Adapters and Intel® Ethernet Controllers are supported under every version of Windows, Linux, or FreeBSD. INDEMNITY. You will indemnify, defend, and hold Intel harmless from any allegation against Intel arising in connection with Your use of the Materials and You will pay all of Intel’s losses, liabilities, and costs (including attorneys’ fees) arising from the allegation. PCI-SIG SR-IOV implementation: Provides an implementation of the PCI-SIG standard for I/O Virtualization. The physical configuration of each port is divided into multiple virtual ports. Each virtual port is assigned to an individual VM directly by bypassing the virtual switch in the Hypervisor, which results in near-native performance.Termination. Either party may terminate this Agreement, with 30 days written notice, at any time for any reason. This Agreement will automatically terminate upon (a) Your breach of the Agreement, (b) an allegation that you do not have authority to bind your employer to these terms, or (c) Your assertion that an Intel Component, the Materials, or any product based on any Intel Components or the Materials infringes Your patents.
