About this deal

Dex (2 years old) absolutely loved this book - especially telling which of the dogs chasing the boy were good and bad.

My first books were about teenage life and came from my own experiences and concerns – I was fourteen when I discovered the immense and liberating power of writing and it was my main stay during my largely unhappy teenage years. This story encourages children to think about what is ‘too much’ of something and the benefits of having a healthy balanced diet.I would use this book in my class if we were talking about different food groups and what you should eat to be healthy. Born in Tokyo and moving to England at 11, she studied illustration and animation at Kingston University, London. And the slow transformations from boy to food and back again, is a wonderful example of a talented artist.

We established Burger Boyz at the end of 2021 and, ever since, we have only grown from strength to strength. Prose and part-rhyme make this a lovely book to read aloud, and the illustrations by Mei Matsuoka are lively and bright. This book is very relatable to both children and adults as it expresses views of both parents and child. If you enjoy meeting new people and creating memorable experiences, consider a new career opportunity with Burger Boy of San Antonio! When Holly's tooth falls out she decides to keep it and leave the tooth fairy a set of vampire teeth instead.I would recommend this to anyone who has a child who hates to eat one thing and wants to over indulge in another.

On the plus side, it's targeted at younger boys, and appropriate for children a bit older than some of the other (in my opinion) better examples of this subject matter - like Little Pea or I Will Never Not Ever Eat a Tomato. Children may think that adults deny the fast food for them just to be mean, but after reading the story they might understand that it’s for their own good. He gets picked up by the burger truck because the guy thinks that Benny is a giant Birger and wants to put him on display.Benny ran away from hungry animals and people as he tried to convince them that he was a boy, and wasn't a burger. Kids will be giggling at the kid who accidentally turns himself into a hamburger, and spends the day running from an ever-increasing crowd. After his terrifying day full of hungry dogs and children, angry cows, and a money-hungry restaurant owner, this boy vows to never eat another burger again! Alan Durant is the author of books for a wide age-range, from picture books such as Burger Boy, Angus Rides the Goods Train and Always and Forever to top-end teenage thrillers ( Blood, Flesh and Bones). At Burger Boys we are pleased to be one of the takeaways in Kennington with incredible food, polite and friendly staff, and great value for money.

And that is just the start of a madcap chase in which the hapless Benny is pursued across the countryside by a mob of hungry dogs, boys and angry cows.

The buttery, soft bun, the perfectly cooked beef hamburger and adding the jalapenos…loved every morsel of it. In the end, he his rescued by his mother who feeds him fruits and veggies till he turns back into a little boy again. His mom ends up telling him that, "If all you eats is burgers, then one day he is going to turn into one" and Benny did! Very entertaining to watch my kids expressions and ask "can you really turn into something that you have too much of?
