To make the edible necklaces, you need string, a needle (a nice big one for little fingers to control better), and some fruit. Thread four pieces of purple fruit cereal onto the string, followed by four pieces of blue cereal, four pieces of green cereal, four pieces of yellow cereal, four pieces of orange cereal, and four pieces of red cereal. I decided to alternate sizes, using 3 small hearts, one large heart, 3 small hearts, one large heart, and so on. Delving a bit into their history, it's fascinating to see how something as simple as a candy could turn into a style statement.
