About this deal

I smell roses, adelhydes, pepper, saffron and patchouli, the fresh aromatic kind, not the dirty earthy kind which I cannot stand.

The life-changing effects of the scent remain to be seen, but if Tilbury's past launches are anything to go by, it's sure to be a raging success regardless. When I heard that Charlotte Tilbury was releasing a namesake fragrance, I was expecting it to be sweet, a little spicy and sexy – the way I imagine Ms. I created a scent that would ignite this key to attraction in a more sophisticated way than I had done. The scent is described as a “first-of-its-kind ‘floral chypre’ perfume harmony that features a blend of confidence boosting Joy top notes, intoxicating Fleurotic heart notes and pheromone base notes.

I'm a huge fan of Charlotte Tilsbury cosmetics, and although this perfume isn't quite what I expected, I think it's very sexy for special occasions.

Every time I lift the foil peel-backs in magazines I get nothing but something which is a bit like canteloupe melon with sickly confectionery. It makes me think of something that needs a beautiful mirrored vanity table and marabou feather powder puffs, for spritzing while I lounge in my silk negligee set. Starts off like slightly lemony hairspray then goes woody floral with some powdery amber and surprisingly restrained patchouli. Its nose, the president of the Technical Commission of the French Society of Perfumers, Francois Robert, describes it as a combination of both the floral and chypre groups, with ingredients that "dance together in a new way".I’m always surprised to hear that people haven’t heard of Charlotte Tilbury because it’s so immensely popular here! I should have used the perfume tester I had a couple more times because this perfume is atrocious to my nose. Interestingly my 12 year old son - totally unprompted, told me quite that something smelled really nice after I had liberally sprayed this?

I've have been very pleasantly surprised and impressed by this perfume after a pretty inauspicious start. There was a slow build up to this release, with little teasers being released here and there, whetting our appetite for something new, something fresh.

On my skin this is a musky, soapy floral along the lines of Guerlain Idylle, SJP Lovely and Modern Muse which normally I can't tolerate and find headache inducing. Both hyper-feminine and irresistibly seductive, this enhances your powers of attraction - perfect for a first date when you want to feel beguiling but emboldened. Heady, heady, heady patchouli and powder and orange and chemicals and just whaaaaaat is going on in there? It reminds me of something, but I cannot be sure, (unusually,) there's an echo of Bamboo Glacé by Weil) - which also had an 80'd Givenchy vibe, but in a different way - cannot think what it reminds me of. PARFUM (FRAGRANCE), AQUA/WATER/EAU, ETHYLHEXYL METHOXYCINNAMATE, ETHYLHEXYL SALICYLATE, BUTYL METHOXYDIBENZOYLMETHANE, BHT, LIMONENE, CITRONELLOL, LINALOOL, GERANIOL, HYDROXYCITRONELLAL, HEXYL CINNAMAL, BENZYL BENZOATE, BENZYL SALICYLATE, CITRAL, EUGENOL, BUTYLPHENYL METHYLPROPIONAL, FARNESOL, BENZYL ALCOHOL, METHYL 2-OCTYNOATE.

I think her marketing is extremely clever and it’s something that draws me into the brand even further. Then it settles a little (but not really) into a peppery tuberose patchouli which is not well blended at all. I don't know about that message, as I think most men would fall for gourmand sweet scents nowadays, everyone is subliminally conditioned to go for that.
