About this deal

He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.

So unless they have renegotiated the rights for the cushing movie adaptation there probably won’t be enough to do a third. The amount of surviving original art from “The Daleks” used for the most recent collection really is pretty incredible, as much commercial comic art has, sadly, simply been destroyed down the years.

I’d been hoping for some collection magazines as trying to follow particular characters such as the daleks seems to always take you on a random tour of about 40 different comics, it’ll be nice to have some all in one place. I don’t know what profits they make but it’s hard to not think they might be exploiting hardcore Who fans just a little. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. The only other dalek material is the follow up strips to the sixties dalek strip and the latest cushing strip.

Pitiless war machines committed to universal conquest, the Daleks have terrified and enthralled Doctor Who fans for generations. I reckon they’ll be waiting for 13’s run to be over so they can collect all of 13’s remaining issues in the next one. Volume 2 is highly recommended to anyone who purchased the first volume, and anyone purchasing this volume will want to purchase the first volume. A continution of these tales and a 32nd anthology of the non-Dalek stories that have appeared in the Doctor Who Magazinesin the last couple of years would be very welcome.

Thought a comic strip adaptation of the first Cushing Dalek movie had previously been published in ‘Classic Comics’ some years back, but this says ‘never before collected’ (whatever that means) so wondering if it’s something new? Interesting thought; what do we think is going to happen with the DWM strip if Ncuti really doesn’t appear until 2024? I don’t believe Who is such a nice market, the worlds full of niche markets anyway, that’s my point there is so much competition for my time these days as well as my money. For long term doctor who comic strip collectors this first volume of dalek tales may seem a bit superfluous. The Doctor and K9 must try and save the New Earth star system from the Daleks… and their werewolf foot soldiers!
