About this deal

D.s in Law from Oxford, bilingual, trilingual, pentalingual and even some sexolingual and polyglot attorneys, as well as and some legal heroes who risked (and lost) their careers by being whistleblowers. Without giving the story-line away, I found this was the book that finally stretched plausibility beyond its breaking-point: the main plot device is 'James Bond' like (and speaking as a chemist, scientific nonsense); the final action sequence is rather 'deja vu'; and, as this was the last in the series I was expecting some closure on the career of John Carr (one way or another), whereas its actually left entirely open. Well, it’s not Camel Club like the early ones in the series but more just Oliver Stone/John Carr and i think it works better for it. I enjoyed this book and the whole series and highly recommend it to anyone that likes the "spy world"! In this adventure of the Club, most other members are bystanders and Oliver grandstands the plot for himself.

In total, David has published 32 novels for adults; all have been national and international bestsellers, and several have been adapted for film and television. Baldacci also comments about the fact that Lafayette Park has more squirrels per square inch than any other place on earth. It's fast paced, full of plot twists and turns and enough red herrings to keep you (and the characters) guessing. A new NIC director Riley Weaver, also has a few secrets of his own, and doesn't really care for Stone/Carr, and makes sure to throw several roadblocks in his way, and worse, leave out important information that could have solved the puzzle much sooner. Like the all of the more recent Baldacci novels and none of the early Baldacci novels, Hell's Corner is nothing but a page turner.I was shocked, I was in disbelief and I really believed that ( THAT THEY ALL DIED) it actually happened. Much later, when David thanked her for being the spark that ignited his writing career, she revealed that she’d given him the notebook to keep him quiet, "because every mom needs a break now and then. Stone is feeling nostalgic for the days when he and Adelphia camped in the park and held up such signs as "I want the truth!

In the aftermath, British MI5 agent Mary Chapman, an experienced, lethal operative with an agenda of her own, is sent to assist and coordinate the investigation alongside American authorities. Oliver Stone has been summoned by the President of the United States to perform a mission on Russian soil.

But their opponents are elusive, capable, and increasingly lethal; worst of all, it seems that the park bombing may just have been the opening salvo in their plan. As things become clearer in the investigation, more key players are killed including FBI Special Agent Tom Gross. I also really liked the dynamics between the FBI, NIC, NSC, CIA, ATF, and all the other countless agencies that were involved. Oliver Stone was forced to be back in his business when he experienced a bombing in a known park near the White House. The Camel Club goes from upset at being turned away to forcing its way into the investigation and from that moment on the determination to capture the criminal and figure out what is really going on grows to a proportion even Stone can’t control.

This series blows me away every time because the characters have so much depth and they are written with such clarity that you feel they just passed you on the street and said Good Morning. I'd have to say that the Camel Club itself didn't get as much play as I hoped because Oliver Stone spent too much time flirting with and kissing hot female spies, but altogether a very satisfying and entertaining book. S., and tension runs high in the United States as the incident occurs shortly before the Prime Minister's movement near the White House. A lifelong Virginian, David is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia School of Law.The president has personally requested that Stone serve his country again on a high-risk, covert mission. It seems that the mysterious attackers might have another target in their sights, and if the Camel Club is unable to stop them, the results would be nothing less than catastrophic.
