The beer itself is delicious, sweet and caramelly with an almost liquorice-like finish, but the glass that makes this beer even more famous. The glass could be hung from a hook on the coach, and the wooden stand prevented it from tipping over.I recently went to Belgium and had some Kwak beers on this glass, as a unique glass I would do love to have one! Kwak has a most distinctive-shaped glass, resembling a stirrup cup or ‘yard of ale’, which is held upright in a wooden stand. The local innkeeper developed a special glass which would be easy for the coachmen to hold (as they would wear thick gloves to control the horses) and the glass was shaped it such a way so it could be attached to the coach. The Kwak beer isn’t just served in a unique glass, the glass is accompanied by a wooden stand to ensure that it doesn’t fall over and spill the beer all across the able.
