With Scimmie, Marco said he wanted to recover the music from the 1970s that he loved and was back in fashion: the views of the critics were strangely positive, but not public opinion, which decreed the album's commercial failure. But the greatest change was the separation from Bigazzi, Marco's old teacher, who had marked the beginning of his musical career.

The success of his romances (published mainly by Latte, Meissonier, and Colombier) was enhanced by the collaboration with famous illustrators such as Jules David and Achille Devéria.

In 1986 he had the important meeting with Bigazzi, in the studio situated in Settignano, where Marco made him hear some specimens. It is not, therefore, surprising that presenting the keys of the city has always signified recognizing, in fact and right, a privilege to few as evidence of their power, magnificence and regalness.
