If there are any obstacles it is recommended that you go around at 90 degree angles. It took me around 20 minutes from start to finish, but this didn’t include mowing around the edges before laying, reading the instructions (beforehand) and connecting up the base station. So in reality, you need to allocate yourself at least an hour to get everything in place. Make sure you follow the manufacturer’s recommendations, because once you're past the initial set up there’s not much to do apart from use the mower. As I mentioned, I tried this machine out on my 100m² front lawn and within three hours, it had as good as completed the entire thing with power to spare. Typically, you’ll get around four hours out of a single charge, but this does depend on the conditions such as whether there are any slopes or how bumpy the ground is. The LawnMaster L10 will cut the perimeter of your lawn on every third day, just before it starts its normal random mowing pattern. You also have the ability to manually start this perimeter mow should it be required. This is a great feature as it limits the amount of additional work cutting around the edge of the lawn. Gardena Sileno City is one of those machines that you might try. It has a very simple and helpful programming assistant that not only guides you to set the mower but also shows you a mowing plan based on the inputs. It’s not necessary to follow the inbuilt mowing programs, there are options for manual instructions as well. The setup process for this lawnmower is pretty standard. Lay the perimeter wire, set up the base station, and you’re good to go! The instructions are fantastic and my lawn boundaries aren’t too complex, so the entire assembly process only took about 40 minutes .

The bump feature ensures that, if the LawnMaster L10 collides with anything in your garden, it will automatically change its direction. This is important if you have a lot of structures around the lawn such as trees or lawn ornaments and have not isolated them using the perimeter wire. Moreover, the LawnMaster L10 has a lift sensor so if it is lifted off the ground, the blade will automatically shut off, preventing potential accidents or injuries. PINIt’s also a good choice for medium size gardens. It’s capable of mowing areas up to 400 m² in size, and there’s a range of cutting heights to suit different grass lengths. Choose from 20 mm to 60 mm. READ NEXT: The best robot lawn mowers to buy Bosch Indego S+ 500 review: What do you get for the money? The cutting width of robot lawn mowers is a lot narrower than regular lawn mowers. This is because they are designed to get into smaller spaces and take up a lot less room. Models for smaller lawns may have a cutting width of just 20 cm. Safety Components The Landroid mower utilizes all the latest technologies to complete the lawn mowing session without much interference. No matter you own an odd-shaped yard or there are multiple obstacles in between the grasses, the mower gives you neat and precise results. Once the machine is ready, you can simply leave it on the grass bed and spent time to finish other tasks. Part of the MX 24V Shared Battery System. Every MX 24V 4.0 AH battery and charger is fully compatible with the LawnMaster MX 24V cordless range, including lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, grass trimmers, chainsaws and leaf blowers.

Rain detection: It’s better to let your grass soak up excess moisture before mowing it. A rain sensor will send your robot home if it starts to rain, and can delay mowing until it’s dry again.

You also need to lay a boundary wire around the edge of the area you want your robot to mow. This is usually supplied on a reel, is connected to the charging station at both ends and carries a low voltage, which the mower uses to detect when to stop and turn around. You can bury this wire, or peg it down and eventually it will bed down into the grass. Price range: Autonomous mowers are not affordable when compared to other versions. However, entry-level models are available at comparatively lower prices when compared to high ends options. No matter what is the price tag, you need to make sure that the machine can cover your lawn. There is no point spending on a tool that cannot maintain your garden properly. Like most robot mowers the L10 uses three small blades to cut the grass and they did a decent job. But – there’s always a but isn't there – the mower uses a random pattern which we found confusing. And, if we didn’t leave running long enough it missed small patches of grass. The first time we left it running for 30 mins to get the lawn in a decent state. For consecutive cuts we dropped the cutting height to 20 mm and ran for about 15-20 mins. The charging station is oriented so that the terminals are on the left and open end on right (as viewed from the centre of the lawn) You will need a rubber mallet to drive in the supplied pegs to keep the perimeter wire taut (Image credit: Steven Jenkins) Let the LawnMaster L10 mow

You should also think about the slope . Most mowers are designed to handle a certain level of slope, and no steeper. If you’ve got a slope in your garden, ensure your mower is able to accommodate it. Most robot lawn mowers can handle slopes at a gradient of between 20% and 35%. Most robot lawnmowers have to be connected to Wi-Fi if you want to control and schedule their activities using a smartphone app. The Honda Miimo 70 Live is a bit different because it has a mobile internet connection built in. SOLID & RELIABLE - The LawnMaster L10 robotic lawn mower is from a brand you can trust. The L10 is tough, durable, IPX5 rated to be fully waterproof and comes with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty.Three sharp blades cut the grass well and are really easy to replace when needed. (Image credit: Steven Jenkins) How well does the LawnMaster L10 cut? However, all of them are not equal. To find the best robotic lawnmower, you need to consider some of the factors that we will discuss now. But before that, you should be aware of some basics about their working. How Does a Robot Lawnmower Work?

If you have an obstacle on your lawn, you can run the perimeter wire out to, and around the obstacle to tell the L10 where not to mow. Just be sure to run the perimeter wire less than 1cm apart leading out to the obstacle to ensure that the robotic mower ignores this stretch of the wire and mows over it. If you own a small land, then try a mower with 15 or 16 cm blade. Mowers with 17 cm or bigger blades are better for large areas. All the mowers cut the grasses into tiny pieces and leave them on the ground that fertilizes the grasses. Moreover, you don’t have to worry about the disposal of these clippings. Robomow RX12U is a cost-effective model but it has features that are only available in high-end mowers. So, it’s difficult to match the worth of this mower. And why not? It can easily cover every inch of your garden and squeegee through tight spaces without any hassles and provides you with accurate results. What the Indego S+ doesn’t have is the ability to see its surroundings. It will navigate around objects but does this by bumping into them, rather than actually seeing and completely avoiding them. This is fine for your washing line but your sleeping dog might be less happy about it.Let’s face it, robot lawn mowers are costly, and the last thing you want is for it to get stolen! But if you’re out at work or relaxing inside during the day, you want to be sure a passer-by isn’t going to help themselves to your new tool. Most robot lawn mowers then require you to set up a scheduled mowing time, which is either done on the mower itself or by using an app. Designed for small lawns of up to 150m² in size , the Flymo EasiLife 150 GO Robotic Lawn Mower is one of the most popular models out there. Why? To find out, I sectioned off a 150m² area of my lawn and put this machine to the test. Not all the lawns are flat. If you have slopes in the yard or garden, then don’t think that the mower will not be able to cut the grasses. Its powerful motor and high-quality wheels easily push the mower over paths that are inclined up to 25 per cent.
