An unreleased Peashooter (in his Battle for Neighborville design) weapon charm was discovered in the files for Apex Legends, a free-to-play battle royale game published by EA. As with the other playable classes in the Garden Warfare series, he has numerous Character variants based on him, each having their own traits that differentiate them from the standard base character. It is possible use Pea Gatling in mid-air, combine this with Pea Suped and one can surprise the zombies with a Pea Gatling behind them. Peashooter mostly functions in the same way as the first game, being a plant with not too many pros or cons. His moderately cheap price, decent damage and firerate makes him an efficient choice for early game. However, he is overshadowed by other more useful early game plants like even in the tutorial you can use Cabbage-pult (PvZ2) over Peashooter as he can launch projectiles over graves and obstacles.

He is one of the six plants seen in the trailer of Plants vs. Zombies 2 being shown fighting the zombies, the other five being Bonk Choy, Bloomerang, Pea Pod, Wall-nut, and Sunflower. His Pea Gatling ability has also received a buff where its cooldown is dependent on how much of it is used, with little usage resulting in a shorter cooldown. His Hyper ability has also been replaced with an ability named Pea Suped which is functionally identical to Hyper with the added benefit of increasing Peashooter's rate of fire and allowing him to hover in the air by zooming in with his primary.

This is the only customization that can be obtained through both the Reward-O-Tron and a Prize Map. Due to the different sun system, Peashooter costed 3 sun rather than 100, but otherwise behaved the exact same way he does in Plants vs. Zombies 2, being featured in every level except 15 and 17. Special costumes for Cabbage-pult, Bonk Choy, Kernel-pult, Snapdragon, and Lightning Reed were added to commemorate Plants vs. Zombies' 6th birthday.

Fire Peashooter can deal double damage per fire pea (has a chance to shoot napalm peas at a certain level) and can warm nearby plants, as well as being immune to freezing herself at the cost of 75 more sun. It could also be somewhat of a reference to the Yeti Chomper variant from Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. He is a member of the Appease-mint family, dealing 150 more damage when they are on the field and his Plant Food effect has him wear a helmet similar to Gatling Pea and fire a burst of 60 peas.

The term peashooter is normally used to refer to a toy version of a blowgun, or as a slang for small or low-caliber firearms, referring to how weak he is in the Plants vs. Zombies games (except for the Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare series). She's prettier, smarter, and cooler than you, but does she have six cantaloupes? I didn't think so. A play on bomb squad, an explosives engineering profession using the process by which hazardous explosive devices are rendered safe.
