This is an unusual entry on our list, given that it only has one function. That said, we have included it in this guide as an inexpensive 'faff-free' star projector, though as we discussed in our BlissLights Starport USB star projector review, we use the term star projector loosely. One difference between this model and the Bliss Lights Sky Lite 2.0 is there is no option to rotate the lasers which shine from the top right of the astronaut's helmet, only the nebulae rotates. We don't think that's a deal breaker though. Astronaut Starry Sky Projector: Functionality The 5-Watt LED projects pin-sharp images across the whole projection, from edge to edge. The operation is quiet, and there are three sleep timers for automatic shut-off. There's no remote, app control, or in-built speaker, but these aren't functions you'll need if all you're doing is selecting your desired disk and switching the projector on to gaze at the stars.

The Astronaut Starry Sky Projector is a cost-effective way to add immediate ambiance to a room. Thanks to its novelty space-walking astronaut design, it would be the perfect gift for a young space fan. It's very easy to use, the lights are bright and customizable, the lasers will fill a small room, and the operation is quiet, all features that make for a good star projector. The models that tend to be more affordable are those that give you an immersive experience, to give the feel of being somewhere other-worldly, and the colors and patterns are loosely 'inspired' by space — nebulas, auroras and galaxies. You've likely seen them at parties, in games rooms, in spas and so on. You're on a budget:This is the most expensive option on this list, so if you're on a budget, there are more suitable options that perform almost just as well. Unlike some other models, we found it to be near silent in its operation, which is great if you're using it to get to sleep or whilst watching a film.The projected images are bright and clear even during the daytime. You can power it with either a user-supplied 5V DC power cable or three AA batteries which are included.

This projector would be most suited to a child's bedroom, just be mindful that the lasers aren't pointing directly in anyone's line of sight — pretty easy to accomplish given the positioning flexibility the magnetic space helmet allows.Like many other star projectors, there's a 'shooting star' function, although, in our Sega Homestar Flux review, we explained how we'd like this to be at random intervals, or in a different place each time so it isn't as predictable. This allows children to learn more about the different space objects and concepts depicted in the slides and adds fun and mystery to learning. We were really impressed with the Orzorz Galaxy Night Light when we reviewed it recently. It easily rivals the Sega Homestar Flux in terms of image quality and functionality and comes at a fraction of the cost. The astronaut's head, which can be rotated 360° thanks to the magnetic attraction, allows the nebula to be projected anywhere without restriction.
