Anchor Bay released a bare-bones edition in 1999 followed by a now-discontinued special edition from Elite Entertainment. This transfer also has noticeably adjusted contrast levels and higher widescreen framing, all of which you can see from the comparison screenshots below.

It's really awesome how good the final blu-rays came out for both these films, and with surprising terrific new extras for both. I have the movie in his FULLY UNALTERED version,both formats ( 16/9 and 4:3 ) and witch his ORIGINAL COLORS ! But it's worth the trouble, because the bonus disc includes some really great stuff, many of which was brand new for this release. Since it’s just the three of them in chairs talking about the past, it’s a nice feature to watch the interaction of ladies off screen if studying the culture of actresses. So if you have a strong preference for one version or the other, make sure you're getting what you want; but conveniently, it's cheap and easy to get both in the same package.The Palace Boys Meet The Evil Dead (13min) – in association with Blue Underground, this featurette is a look at one British company’s finding of the film (considered a “Video Nasty” back in the day) and getting the rights to it. First time watchers won’t mind the build-up and all, but for the rest of us we just want to get to the gore. Like many other special editions…well, you’ll have to hang on to the old releases because all features but the commentary are release-specific.
