Description

The Elite Strap with Battery also has a button on the bottom of the battery that serves as a charging indicator. If you press the button, a flashing orange light indicates low charge, orange indicates medium charge, and green indicates that the battery is fully charged. You will see similar indicator lights when the battery strap is plugged into the charger.

When you use the Elite strap with battery on your Meta Quest 2, the main battery status indicators such as the LED on the side of your headset, and the main battery level shown in your headset, will show the combined battery level of your Meta Quest 2 and Elite strap with battery. If you select the headset power icon in VR, it will show you a more detailed view of the battery status with separate charge levels for the internal headset battery and Elite strap battery. The default Quest 3 head strap is marginally better than the Quest 2 head strap, but it’s still relatively uncomfortable, and wearing it results in the headset wobbling on your face as you move. A number of early testers of Quest 3 had mentioned that the new headstrap was much better than the one for Quest 2, but I think it’s only a minor improvement, and inadequate for more than occasional, short VR sessions. This feels like a reasonable amount of time, and I’m usually ready for a break when the headset is starting to run out of battery. If I need additional battery life, I have a number of external batteries that I can connect to the Elite Battery Strap to extend the battery life further. Quest 3 Elite Strap With Battery Video ReviewIf you can get your hands on a Quest 3, you’ve got everything you need right in the box to start playing some of the best VR games out there. Once you’ve got a few hours under your belt though, you’ll probably notice a few things that definitely need improving, many of which can thankfully be solved with a few key aftermarket accessories. I finally was able to give my quest 3 a good test. Here are thoughts so far about visuals and accessories One of the main reasons I’ve chosen the official Elite Strap with Battery for my Quest 3 is that the design and materials fit in so well with the rest of the headset. The Elite strap makes the headset look way better and it solves the comfort and battery life problems very nicely. There will undoubtedly be a wide selection of third-party battery straps available before too long, but I doubt whether there will be many with such good aesthetics and build quality. Maximise comfort with a balancing design that uses the weight of the battery to lift your headset away from your face

The battery strap is able to provide power to the Quest 3 at least as fast as you are able to drain the battery while using the headset. This means that the battery strap will always drain before the headset, and you will always utilize all of the available charge across the two batteries when using your headset. Keep your headset in place and your visuals clear with rigid stabilising straps that give all-round support With this simple and inexpensive set-up, the battery life of the Quest 3 can be increased enormously without sacrificing comfort. | Picture: MIXED You should be able to game easily enough using Air Link on that old 2.4GHz router, although if you’re looking to get the most out of Air Link-ing your headset to a VR-ready PC for a host of PC VR games, it might be time to upgrade to a dual-band router, as Meta recommends connecting to Wi-Fi via 5GHz band (AC or AX).

Immerse yourself in virtual worlds with no ill-fitting strap or low power warnings to distract you

Whether you’re just looking for a way to charge during gameplay, or you want to connect Quest 3 to your computer via Meta Quest Link to use it as a PC VR headset, you’ll need a USB-C cable long enough to get the job done. It seems to work just fine, but removing the original headstrap always makes me feel like I’m going to break something, and attaching the new straps is an awkward affair since there’s no clear starting point. You’ll figure it out eventually, but something more intuitive would have been welcomed. Play for longer with a built-in second battery that delivers up to double the play time* between charges But for my taste, I’m not buying a case for fashion’s sake—it serves its purpose perfectly well as a tote for the Quest 2, controllers, and charger.
