The team at the Disability Horizons shop is always looking for ways to make the lives of people with disabilities or health conditions easier. The Shop Manager, Duncan, looked at the current mattress lifters available and found that the original BedMadeEZ from the USA was not available but other sales platforms have been flooded with cheap plastic Chinese-made mattress lifters. Some are too flimsy to work and they are all very ugly looking and made of garish and unsustainable plastic. Identifying a need, a wooden bed mattress lifter was commissioned and produced exclusively for the DH Shop. It is made in the UK by the bespoke furniture makers Griffin And Sinclair, from UK sourced oak. We’ve called it “The Bed Wedge”.
