Aside from alcohol stoves and liquid fuel stoves, canister stoves make up one of the most prevalent fuel-burning equipment for portable outdoor stoves. These gas canisters come in various sizes with different weights. It’s important to be aware of the dangers of carbon monoxide when using a camping stove. Avoid cooking inside your tent or in an enclosed area, as gas build-up can be fatal. Always cook in well-ventilated areas, and never use your gas stove in your tent as a heater. If the cylinders get too hot, they will normally expand at the base but they can only become explosive when exposed to fire and ignited in the process. Having said that, gas cylinders are relatively safe and may be used without hesitation. If you’re transporting the cylinder over a long distance, it is better to unscrew it first.
