About this deal

The broadcast of Episode 6 was delayed due to coverage of an FA Cup replay being broadcast. In contrast to Season 2 (three 2-part episodes), Season 3 is one 6-part story. So it’s not Tosh that Calder has an issue with – it’s the two different approaches to work. Both are valid and, as they start to work together as a team, they see their strength together. Like any close relationship with someone you have to work alongside intensely, there are moments when it flows and moments when it doesn't but they are both fiercely committed to their work, they always have that in common, and it is this dogged pursuit of truth and justice that is the engine that drives them as a team. And then there’s the weather! One minute we had this horizontal rain and the next, a heatwave and it was like the tropics and everyone was going wild swimming. I felt like I was on my holidays. These are all people that I’ve watched on the television for years and always admired. In fact, I met Phyllis many moons ago because she played my mum in Nativity. She’s just such a legend and what a character Grace Bain is! She plays these strong, steely parts and yet she’s incredibly warm and funny. Just to be up close and personal to all these people and having a laugh with them was great. It really was wonderful. It was an incredibly unified cast I have to say. People hear actors wittering on “oh we all got on so well, we were one big happy family but we absolutely, genuinely did.

Well, being in Shetland during a summer heatwave wearing layers of cashmere will certainly stay with me forever that’s for sure! Old ghosts return to haunt Pérez, with his enemies trying to prevent him from getting to the truth.

The entire cast was amazing but I have a special place in my heart for the inimitable Don Gilét [who plays hitman Howell]. The first couple of weeks were quite disorientating for me as I found my feet in this new world ofShetland. The first day I remember really loosening up I was chasing him [Don] down a beach. I was in pain with laughing. He's such a one-off, insanely funny and makes every day you're working with him memorable and special. Tosh would describe Calder as an extremely skilled and experienced police officer who doesn't suffer fools and doesn't mince her words, but who has an emotional hinterland and a softer side that she catches glimpses of and is very curious about. Canada: The series is broadcast on British Columbia's Knowledge Network [35] and streamed on Netflix. Working alone and without a forensic team, the detectives talk to the victim's friends, family, and colleagues – and as tensions run high, the storm forces Pérez and the suspects to remain together under a single roof.

Pérez and the team are forced to re-open a 23-year-old cold case when convicted murderer, Thomas Malone, is released from prison. The case concerns teenager Lizzie Kilmuir, who was found strangled to death in a lime kiln on Unst Island. Upon returning to Shetland, Thomas tries to make amends with Lizzie's twin sister, Kate. Meanwhile, local journalist Sally McColl attends the Shetland Folk Festival with a group of her friends but doesn't return home later that evening. The next day, she is found strangled to death on a kiln, in what looks like a copy of Lizzie's murder. Pérez is forced to break the news to Drew, Sally's father, a former police officer who led the investigation into Lizzie's murder and now believes Thomas killed Sally. A group of men drags Thomas from his home and tries to bury him alive. first assistant camera: b camera: dailies / second assistant camera: a camera / b camera focus puller / first assistant camera: b camera (12 episodes, 2021-2022) camera operator: "b" camera / second unit photography/b camera operator: additional photography / b camera operator / b camera operator: additional photography / second unit photography (12 episodes, 2014-2018) Shetland is a Scottish crime drama series made by ITV Studios for BBC Scotland and first broadcast on BBC One on 10 March 2013.
