Neville with the Sword of Gryffindor– Neville looks very dapper here in his fancy jumper, and looks incredibly smug holding the fabled Sword of Godric Gryffindor aloft as he *spoiler* is about to chop off Nagini’s head. I love advent calendars that can be used year after year and I think teens can be quite sentimental about bringing out childhood favourites each year.
Santa Gonk– Despite being part of Top 4 Mini Builds I selected this build not because I like it, but rather because of how much I dislike this build. At first glance I couldn’t even tell what it was, but it was obvious it was a Santa something. Whereas the present version of Gonk from 2019 was well done and you could still discern it was our favorite power droid. Unfortunately, this one completely misses the mark and leaves me disappointed.

The designs are fairly simplistic, with only the general shape and colours used to clue you into what they actually are. Take a walk down memory lane and relive the 2021 LEGO Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar to see what we got last year! The Star Wars Advent Calendar ( see it at Walmart) is mostly spacecraft and droid builds from the movies. My favorite was a miniature AT-ST Walker, which the designers depicted in perfect minimalist fashion. I loved the Advanced TIE Fighter, which again captured the key design elements of the build in a very spare, suggestive manner. And in terms of Christmas-themed accessories, you cannot get cuter than R2-D2 in a Christmas sweater.

This advent calendar has 24 items which I approve of – because so many advent calendars for teens only have 12 doors. Inside this Nivea advent calendar, teens will find body lotion, serum and shea butter, a range of lip balms, along with micellar water, cleansing wipes and a host of accessories. There is also an Nivea advent calendar for the teen boys in your family. This year, we have a special twist with the Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar, which is a direct tie-in to the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which is now streaming on Disney+ Items that are not available in store will take 3-5 working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays) to be delivered to your nominated store.
LEGO Marvel 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar launches alongside four other seasonal sets in 75340 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar, 76404 LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar, 60352 LEGO CITY Advent Calendar and 41706 LEGO Friends Advent Calendar. No matter your interest, that line-up should have something for everyone to enjoy over the holiday season.Unfortunately, my calendar was mixed up with the wrong pieces and sets in nearly every window of the calendar which caused me to have to build the whole thing on the first night. With no spoilers, I’ll say this is maybe the most unique advent we’ve ever seen in regard to theme and builds. I’ll let everyone determine on their own if that’s a good thing or not. And here’s a look at Star-Lord’s alternate expression, which really, is just the default Christ Pratt face at this stage. The Potter set also has phenomenal mini-figures. You get a Moaning Myrtle. You get a Neville Longbottom, complete with the sword of Godric Gryffindor. And that’s it for the Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar! To be honest, I’m mostly disappointed by the Calendar, mostly because of strings of forgettable days and builds, with items that were a stretch to connect to Christmas, the Guardians of the Galaxy or even the Holiday Special.
