About this deal

While Preacher was running, Ennis began a series set in the DC universe called Hitman. Despite being lower profile than Preacher, Hitman ran for 60 issues (plus specials) from 1996 to 2001, veering wildly from violent action to humour to an examination of male friendship under fire. Hawk is traveling through the land and discovers Ranulf has been captured by brigands. Hawk rescues him and Ranulf convinces Hawk to rescue the Abbess. Ennis' landmark work to date is the 66-issue epic Preacher, which he co-created with artist Steve Dillon. Running from 1995 to 2000, it was a tale of a preacher with supernatural powers, searching (literally) for God who has abandoned his creation. Ennis: Once Rebellion heard I was interested they brought out the big guns. Henry Flint is very much 2000 AD A-list, and Greg Staples has been doing astonishing, movie poster-style covers for as long as I can remember.

a b c Jones, Alan (1982). "The Sender". Cinemafantastique. Fourth Castle Micromedia . Retrieved 7 May 2023. In June 2008, at Wizard World, Philadelphia, Ennis announced several new projects, including a metaseries of war comics called Battlefields from Dynamite made up of mini-series including Night Witches, Dear Billy and Tankies, another Chronicles of Wormwood mini-series and Crossed both at Avatar, a six-issue miniseries about Butcher (from The Boys) and a Punisher project reuniting him with artist Steve Dillon (subsequently specified to be a weekly mini-series entitled Punisher: War Zone, to be released concurrently with the film of the same name). In addition to the sequel, British video game company Rebellion Developments plan to release a game, and Marcel has plans for a TV series called Hawk the Destroyer. [8] In a YouTube interview, Marcel stated that he wanted to explore more of the origin of Hawk and Voltan, how Hawk became a warrior and how Voltan became evil. he also wanted to expand on the idea that there was more than one magical stone besides the mind stone that Hawk wields on his sword. He also wanted to show a little bit about the elves in Hawk's land and imagined the film as a prequel to the original. Ennis: I imagine they’ll come for the genre and/or the creative team, and hopefully stay for the characters and story. Hawk the Slayer is very much its own peculiar beast; there’s nothing else quite like it in the genre. One thing I wanted to do was focus heavily on the characters, to continue the existing story rather than expand the world of Hawk into a typical fantasy world of warlords and power bases – I honestly think you can get that stuff anywhere, and one thing I didn’t want to do was lose the unique tone of the original. So you get a good chunk of the original cast, but also some new characters who will work well alongside them, and they don’t get lost as the narrative unfolds.
