About this deal

An entire chapter on your baby’s sleep behavior during the leaps and what you can do to improve its sleep behavior Rijt, Hetty van de; Plooij, Frans (2018). Oei, ik groei! De 10 sprongen in de mentale ontwikkeling van je baby (in Dutch). Amsterdam: Fontaine Uitgevers B.V. ISBN 9789059568488. Having used the app with two different children now, I can say that the leaps are rarely spot-on to the day. For example, my son almost always entered his leaps early, and my daughter is currently following the same pattern. However, while the timing isn’t always exact, it’s usually pretty darn close. This has never bothered me, but it’s worth noting that the leaps may begin or end slightly sooner or later than expected. In addition, we have added an animation for leap 1, to provide a brief explanation of what this leap is about. a b Sadurní, M.; Rostan, C. (2003). "Reflections on regression periods in the development of Catalan infants". In Heimann, Mikael (ed.). Regression periods in human infancy. Mahwah, NJ: Erlbaum. pp.7–22. ISBN 0-8058-4098-2.

The Wonder Weeks - A Stress-Free Guide to Your Baby`s

It’s hard to put yourself in the tiny, adorable shoes of a baby—but this application makes it easier. By reading about each leap as my children are going through it, I can start to understand how their behavior is a direct result of how their perception of the world is changing. Knowing exactly how they’re feeling helps me feel even closer to them and empowers me, as their mother, to be a support system as they adjust to their new skills and ways of perceiving the world. Including information on all you need to know about sleep, from development during sleep to sleeping tips.

The only other downside to the app is that, truthfully, it’s not always the easiest to navigate. The design is clunky and it can sometimes be difficult to find what you’re looking for. That being said, I’ve been using the app for two years now and have noticed improvements during that time. This gives me hope that The Wonder Weeks will continue to refine the app’s design.
