About this deal

I bought this keyboard primarily because I wanted a backlit keyboard for using it in a relatively dark room. There are currently 150+ Razer Chroma integrated titles, including Fortnite, Apex Legends, Warframe, and more.

The Razer Cynosa Chroma Pro does have one small advantage over the Razer Cynosa V2 in that the Pro version offers underglow lighting effects. The lack of mechanical switches and macro keys will put off more seasoned gamers, but this is still a worthwhile option for anyone who fancies an entry-level board. The first is that the space bar was sticking throughout on the left-hand side, which is precisely where I always press space. I wish the software was easier to use and I wish the lighting was brighter by 50% with the entire letter on each key lit. So, how does this new model stack up against the older Cynosa Lite, Cynosa Chroma and Cynosa Chroma Pro?

Compared to mechanical rivals, the Cynosa Lite could be seen to be lacking when it comes to precision and speed of inputs, although this isn’t really a deal-breaker unless you’re a typing or gaming purist. It’s perfect for long typing sessions when you want to bang out an essay late at night, although the dome action can feel spongy after a while. The typing action is quiet and comfortable, and the typing action is linear – which means the buttons hammer straight down, without the noticeable ‘bump’ of mechanical units. It's not very intuitive for people who aren't used to RGB software, or who have used other RGB software that wasn't made by Razer. It only takes 30-60 seconds to get up and unplug it and let it connect back, not trying to say its some hard task to do, its just another one of those "awwww man. Gamers will traditionally lean towards mechanical keyboards with good reason, but they're also pretty loud, and can be expensive.

The SteelSeries and Logitech both have better lighting and more features and only cost a little more than the Cynosa Lite. The Logitech G213 Prodigy is around five dollars or pounds more expensive, and the SteelSeries Apex 3 is around ten dollars or pounds more.I actually found a way to run synapse, force close certain resource hog apps, rename them to avoid them from auto-running again, and it seems to cut down the resources needed by almost half, while allowing me to keep my lights color scheme being used on keyboard/mouse. With the Cynosa V2, Razer added dedicated media controls as you will have quick access to pausing, playing and skipping media files.

Enjoy greater immersion with dynamic lighting effects that occur as you game on over 150 Chroma-integrated titles such as Fortnite, Apex Legends, Warframe, andmore. The Razer has an RGB logo on its front edge, but there are no extra areas of bold angles and bright lights – the kind of additions we expect from Razer. I chose this because I didn't want some rainbow-painted mess with light between the keys, or giant non-standard letters on the keys.

The Cynosa Lite, just as with the Cynosa Chroma, is a particularly good choice if you're looking for a good, quiet, general-purpose keyboard that you can also turn to for a bit of gaming.
