However, stick the MeacoDry Arete One into night mode and the screen goes off and you get low fan speed, too. We really liked the ability to see the current humidity levels, and it's great to know that moisture is being drawn to the dehumidifier rather than settling on the walls and windows. I found this is plenty of time to dry a whole clothes horse full of washing, from lighter items like T-shirts all the way through to far thicker and heavier items like jeans and towels.

For the purpose of this MeacoDry Arete One Dehumidifier review, I tested out the MeacoDry Arete One 12L Dehumidifier, which can extract 12 Litres of moisture from the air per day, making it ideal for use in flats, apartments, and rooms of up to 50 m².In fact, the MeacoDry dehumidifier range as a whole comprises the most energy efficent dehumidifiers that we've come across, regularly beating their main competitor – Pro Breeze – on cost to run. For comparison, Pro Breeze's most energy-effecient comprssor dehumidifier, the Pro Breeze 12L Low Energy Dehumidifier, uses 220W to the MeacoDry 12L Arete One's 151W, and costs roughly 6p per hour to run. I found it rolled well on both hard floor and carpet, unlike many other dehumidifiers of this weight that struggled on carpet.

Most of what I’ve read says a dehumidifier should last 5-10 years so this poor performance makes them very costly. When we discovered we could also use the dehumidifier to dry clothes, we got the Meaco Arete One 25l. We’re really happy with the Meaco Arete One, the water storage tank onf the 25l is huge so it can do two loads of washing without needing to be emptied.I suffer from hayfever, and when I left the dehumidifier running all night, I woke up and didn’t have any allergy symptoms at all. In fact, the MeacoDry Arete One 10L has spent most of its time so far in the bathroom upstairs, which has turned out to be an excellent drying room for laundry. Our Arete dehumidifiers are stylish and blend in, they can fit against the wall and take up less space, with a cable tidy and hidden castors, they are easy to move if needed. The main button lets you cycle through your target humidity level, rising in 5% increments from 40% to 70%. Bear in mind if you do insert the filter, which is added at the back of the unit, Meaco states that the unit will be a little louder, but only by around 4-5 decibels.

The MeacoDry Arete One is the perfect mid-level dehumidifier that’s aimed firmly at average size homes with both damp and wet laundry to tackle. I am planning to leave the machine off, but the room gets very cold, the temperature can drop to 14 degrees. You won’t find any smart controls here, but everything you could need can be found on the Arete One 10L’s top surface. We knew we were going to use a dehumidifer a lot after trying out a smaller version and seeing the difference it made in our kitchen, so for us the Meaco Arete One is a really good choice and good value for money. A simple easy to use control panel – we made the most often used buttons larger and the least used buttons smaller.

This is definitely a better machine than my older Meaco, while the features and functionality are excellent.
