Hot Rod accompanied Kup on a night drive in the desert, when he noticed a spacecraft barreling down from the heavens towards them. As it landed, Hot Rod perceived that it would alternate between being visible and invisible. Curious, he prompted Kup to come with him to investigate. The transformation is a little complex, and the instructions, at least to me, were not very helpful, so it might be a good idea to find a YouTube video where someone talks you through it and points out the spots to be careful with. The legs don't seem to work out so great in alt mode, though thankfully everything tabs into place. These are minor complaints, and I have to say, as someone who's been collecting these off and on since a kid, this is probably one of my Top 5 favorites of all time...maybe even Top 3. Definitely my favorite version of this character. A re-release of the figure in the Fall of 2011 had the chrome-orange headlights replaced with plated gold. The box features original art by Marcelo Matere [14] of Hot Rod in robot and vehicle mode laid over a scene of the interior of one of the Autobot shuttles featured in the film. Interestingly, the art appears to use Studio Series 86 Hot Rod as a model.

Rodimus Prime fought next to Blurr against Galvatron and his cronies while Transformers from both factions prepared to leave Cybertron and expand their war to the planet Nebulos. Headmaster comic book commercial Rodimus Prime comes with one of four holographic Golden Disk cards from wave 1, which reveals a possible destiny of a key character. Rodimus's injuries left him too damaged to safely activate the Enigma, and this injury allowed Starscream to get his hands on the Enigma and betray his nominal allies by taking the relic's power for himself.Legacy Series action figures are more than just kids’ toys. They’re exciting collectibles for fans of all ages! Titanium Cybertron Heroes Rodimus Prime is a mostly die-cast metal transforming toy based loosely upon the original Generation 1 Rodimus Prime toy. He features much greater articulation and bulkier body proportions. Unfortunately, his transformation results in an incredibly awkward posture, forcing his upper body far ahead of his lower half. His die-cast construction also results in a great deal of paint-chipping, even when delicately handled.

The panning shot he appears in during "Decepticon Air" actually contains two of him, but as there are also multiple Ironhides, Brawns, and Beachcombers in that scene, it can be fairly assumed that at least one of them is "real". Later, Kup led Hot Rod, Arcee, and the Dinobots on a special mission to take supplies from Earth to a space station on Cybertron's second moon. Despite Kup's warnings, the Dinobots loaded too many supplies onto the ship, and in the middle of their journey, the ship began to have problems. Hot Rod reassured Arcee that everything would be okay, but the ship was going down! It crashed on a planet which Kup recognized. It was the planet Quintesson! They were interrupted by a tribal scream and a flurry of firestones. However, the boy who made his presence known was not aiming at them, but at the Quintessons behind them. The boy's name was Wheelie, and he had been abandoned on the planet when his ship crashed their earlier. If the Autobots paused a moment to listen to Sarah, she informed them of her spacecraft and its invisibility capabilities. Universes continue to collide! Transformers: Legacy brings together fan-favorite characters from across the Transformers multiverse. Figures feature deco inspired by their universe with an updated Generations design. In honor of the almost 40-year legacy of Transformers entertainment, the fandoms come together from across the Transformers multiverse, all in one toy line.

Intended to be part of the second wave of the Velocitron Speedia 500 Collection, Autobot Hot Rod was to be a redeco of the Studio Series figure in colors reminiscent of his original 1986 toy release. The blast effects included have also been recolored orange, and the blade of his buzzsaw is now translucent blue. The Matrix accessory and associated effect part are omitted. Doesn't this image just scream "buy the toys"? Boy, I sure want an action figure of Old Man Shivering In The Snow. Available only with Star Convoy, Hot Rod's Micromaster form is a simplified version of his original toy, transforming into the same futuristic race car. Like all Micromasters, he features a notch in the base of his feet that allows him to peg inside Star Convoy's chest and stand on his base mode's rotating turret.

Additionally, Rodimus is the only character in Animated to share a voice actor with his G1 counterpart in both the English and Japanese dubs. Someone in the studios must love him! Rodimus was stationed on Earth when the increasingly violent Cybertronian war obliterated the planet, and he would remember the planet's destruction for many years afterwards. Last Bot Standing #3 Over and over again, innocent species found themselves caught between the two factions and paid the price—including humans, Nebulans, and Klovians—and with each new casualty Rodimus came to believe that his kind didn't deserve redemption. Last Bot Standing #2 This Hot Rod is a 1/64 non-transforming robot mode figurine, and like MetaColle figures, he was made partially out of die-cast metal.

For a short time, Takara had contemplated releasing a Hot Rodimus (Hot Rod) toy as the next Binaltech release after Ginrai, but that plan became obsolete when Takara decided to cancel the Binaltech line as a mass retail line altogether. Instead, Hot Rodimus ended up as part of the Kiss Players line, after "Ginrai" had previously become Kiss Players Convoy. Titans Return Rodimus Prime is a retool of Titan Master Ptero with a new torso and head-mode face, both of which are painted-over die-cast metal. He features peg holes in his feet to attach to a variety of Titans Return figures, and can form the head of any Deluxe-or-larger figure from the line. Rodimus Prime provides the power of "Ultimate Speed Boost".

Fire Rodimus was among the many alternate universe incarnations glimpsed by Primax 512.5 Gamma's Hot Rod Destiny, Part Three and was also summoned to Primax 512.5 Gamma to fight the Dark Matrix creature. The War to End All Wars, Part 5 The Hasbro version of Rodimus featured retooled elbow joints that, when separated, make it difficult for him to hold a pose with his arms. The crotch plate was retooled on its underside to help prevent it from hitting the ground while in car mode. Universes continue to collide with Transformers: Legacy! This epic line of Transformers toys brings together fan-favorite characters from across the Transformers multiverse Side Burn's powered up form has a color scheme which resembles Hot Rod's. The reference came full circle with Generation 1 Side Burn, who was a redeco of the Classics Rodimus toy. Dubbed "Hot Rod Blue Clear Version", this redeco of the oft-used Classics Rodimus mold is cast in transparent blue plastics, emulating the scene in The Transformers: The Movie where Hot Rod catches the Matrix of Leadership to keep it from hitting the floor after a dying Optimus Prime dropped it. Of interest is the fact that all the plastic parts are translucent, even the usually "softer"/unpaintable/never-clear nylon parts—a trend not seen on any other "clear" toys produced before.
